WOW!! What a GREAT TOOLBOX!! I ordered both the Excel TB123-Red 16 inch and the Excel TB-124-Red 14 inch. Both items arrived via FED-EX on the same delivery day. I started loading the tools into the boxes and LOVE THEM BOTH!! The only thing that I want to point out for those who are shopping is that if you are going to be using the trays for storing 1/2" drive sockets "upright", get the TB-123 16 inch box. The TB-124 14-inch box has slightly smaller trays and the tray height is just a little less tall. The lids do not close if you are going to be storing 1/2" drive sockets upright. I strongly recommend the TB-123 16-inch box for holding 1/4", 3/8" and especially 1/2" drive sockets. Bite the bullet and get the bigger TB-123 tool box!! The TB-124 14-inch box works well for light 1/4" and 3/8" also but 1/2" sockets cannot be stored in the trays upright since the tray height is just slightly lower. The TB-123 and TB-124 are a great combination for me since I cannot get all of my tools into one box and can easily see which-tool-is-which when I need "THE RIGHT TOOL" for the job!!! WOW!! WHAT A GREAT TOOL BOX!! IT'S THE CAT'S MEOW!!

I have one and liked it so much I bought one for my Dad! He was very pleased as well and we both get a lot of use from these tool boxes. They are well built and are an awesome deal in my opinion!

I have had many toolboxes, but I love the way this one fans out! It may not seem to be that big or that is would hold that much. I can tell you that it holds quite a bit! I love how now I have all my tools organizes into trays(wrenches, ratchets etc I have a pneumatic ratchet along with a small drill and other various tool at the base.

I have a number of tool boxes and bags that are great for transporting tools to the location where they are needed. However, one problem I have always had is finding small tools in the bottom of a large toolbox or bag. The types of tools to which I refer are things like calipers, miniature screw drivers, miniature wrenches, scribes, files, pliers, small sharp cutting tools and other items that you do not what to be sliding around in the bottom of your toolboxes and tool bags where they are almost lost or you may cut yourself by fishing around trying to find them. This cantilever toolbox that effectively provides 5 different storage bays in one box is almost the perfect answer. As you may be aware, technology has reduced the size of many items we use in our day to day lives. Many times this reduction of size also required smaller tools to use them or repair them. To have a toolbox that allows you to readily see these tools so you can access them without fishing around a larger container is a big advantage. Accordingly, the design of this cantilever toolbox is the perfect answer. While this toolbox is very useful, and its design is very good, I think it can be improved by providing slightly stronger hardware used for supporting the opening trays and attaching them to the base of the box. I say this because one must be careful to open the trays carefully and keeping even force between the right and left side of the box and its opening trays. Additionally, this hardware should be stronger because it is on the outside of the box instead of the inside. Location of this hardware on the outside could subject it to damage if it is closed and bangs against another heavy box or is accidently kicked because it is in the way. The entire box is made from steel of a gauge that seems to be a compromise between weight and rigidity and is easily opening to grant full access to the different trays by pushing down on the carrying handle and is closed by pulling up on the carrying handle. The closing process operates more smoothly that the opening process which depends upon the handle being pushed down in a manner that is precisely perpendicular to the box base. I was able to improve the smoothness of this operation by lubrication all of the riveted hardware controlling the opening and closing of the box. All in all, this toolbox meets my needs to organize and carry small tools conveniently and efficiently. My desire for a stronger set of closing/opening hardware is somewhat of a tradeoff between adding weight vs. adding rigidity. Since the box is completely made of steel, it is heavy in relation to the contents it will carry. I do not think this type of cantilever box could be made of polymer type materials and be as strong. The compromise I must make is to be careful with the opening/closing of the box as well as not subjecting it to it to abuse by dropping it or tossing it into a place where it could bang into other toolboxes or heavy objects. On the whole, I am happy with my purchase and will remember that it has some limits in how rough it may be treated.

This is a nice cantilever toolbox at a good value. Clever design with the center handle opening the tiers. It is a little flimsy but doesn't seem like it will fall apart any time soon.

This is a pretty nice popup toolbox and the price is right. It's a little on the heavy side. There are two things you might want to know about it in advance: 1) The paint that this box is coated in will not stand up to oil or alcohol spills. It bubbles up and bleeds. 2) You have to be a little careful about the way you shut it. You can't just pull up on the handle and let it close itself, you have to actually guide the two sides in, or the lids will buckle in and bend. If those two things aren't dealbreakers for you, then there's no reason not to get this toolbox. It's pretty roomy, although I do wish it folded out further to allow full access to the middle sections.
