This is good enough to buy it again in red so I'll repeat that review here. I have many smaller tools which need serious protection and organized storage space on my bench. This and the other one filled the bill for me and at a good price. The Homak measures 20.5" wide by 11.75" high with the lid closed by 8.5" deep. The metal measures 22 gauge (0.031") using a micrometer and making allowance for the enamel. I wouldn't let it bounce around in the back of a truck day after day. Other than that one caveat it is well-built and should tolerate moderate abuse. The drawers work nicely and have a storage clearance of a little under 2 inches. The top tray has a clearance of slightly more than 4 inches with the lid closed. This box should give many years of good service so long as one doesn't beat the hell out of it.

Excellent quality. Excellent price, especially if Amazon offers it with free Super Saver Shipping. Ball bearing drawers work great. When you close and snap in the drawers with the lid open and then close the top, all drawers are then locked into place as one unit so they don't slide out. Also, besides the drawers it has a fairly nice extra top storage area. Handle seems to be a special extra tuff kind of resin which seems very strong. .As long as it is reasonably priced.

This was a gift for my husband and all his tools. Now I do not have to fall over them lying out on the floor! Seems to be well made and sturdy.

Just got this today and I'm very pleased. Sturdy construction, draws slide easily. Positive: It comes with soft padding on the inside, which is very nice because you don't have to go out and buy the non-slip stuff, spend time cutting it to fit, etc. Very nice feature which I wasn't expecting. Negative: You have to have the top lid open in order to open the bottom draws. Not hard by any stretch, but a little annoying. I'm going to figure out someway to disable that. It's a great box for the price. If you can't go big or more expensive, it's a terrific tool box that will be used for years to come.

Tool box is what I expected for the price and suits the purpose I purchased it for which is to hold and transport small tools, parts and accessories specially the ones I use for my rifle and pistols when going to the range. Ball bearing drawers keeps everything arranged in one place, fits my needs adequately and once again, for the price, you can go wrong. I will not recommend this tool box for heavy tools. The only thing I wasn't happy at all is that the seller, "Warehouse Deals Inc", advertised this box as Used in Like New condition with a small di$count, which was false. Tool box arrived damage, bented on the front left bottom corner making the lower drawer hard to close and open, looks like tool box was dropped at the warehouse or during packaging because the drawer was scratched on the bottom like somebody was trying to force it in place. The damage was not during shipping because the shipping/outer box was in perfect condition and didn't show any sign of damage what so ever. I contacted Amazon and they offered me a few buck$ credit to my account so I decided to keep the tool box and fix it my self. Great Customer Service by Amazon but very dissapointed with the seller for the false advertisement and WILL NOT buy again or recommend to nobody.

I bought this toolbox as a gift for my husband. He is very pleased with it. Construction is good. The drawers work nicely and have a lining. It arrived in just a few days. I feel it was a good deal for this price.

I thought this box would be perfect for my workbench area. I don't transport tools often, so this box just sits on my workbench and helps keep most of my everyday tools in one place. So far, I think it's the best you can get for the money. Ball bearing drawers are a must. I also drilled two holes in the top to screw in a magnetic bar to hold other bits and things. The only thing I don't like about it (but not a deal breaker) is the paint finish on the box is gloss black which leaves finger prints and shows dust easily.

This box seems to be very sturdy and well made. The drawers are smooth to open and close, and the construction is very solid. The handle seems to be a possible weak point if it gets damaged, but it seems to be sturdy enough to carry the box around. The drawers have mats in them and the drawers lock closed with the lid..

In a side by side comparison with a Sears professional toolbox costing at least 2-3X more, I think they are very similar (some features are identical). I would say the Homak drawers "fit" when slid into the box is not quite as good as the Sears unit, the Homak drawers seem a little mushy as they hit the backstop. The Sears toolbox is a few years old and has one more drawer. When fully loaded with tools I agree with other reviewers the weight is just too much to cart very far, I usually just have the toolbox at the back of a workbench, and carry a handful of tools to where I need them. If you don't have a toolbox they are great for storing a large number of hand tools, drill bits, etc. in a small space so you can find them easily. For under $50 you get a toolbox with ballbearing slides, I don't know how these Homak toolboxes hold up over the long term though. I haven't had any problems with the Sears toolbox..

for this price can't beat the quality, solidly built, very smooth drawers... Beware of the handle though, the plastic handle broke after 15 seconds the first time i loaded up and start carrying it to my car, the whole chest slammed on the ground from a carrying height (2 feet), good thing it's a solid construction, the chest didn't seem to sustain any damage... Get a strap to carry it around (the ratcheting tarp tie-downs work great).
